Healthy Eating Active Living

Healthy Retailers Project:  In order to make "the easy choice the healthy choice" OCP has partnered with the State of Vermont Department of Health to carry out their "healthy retailers"  program. By providing point of purchase information pointing to healthy choices in stores, OCP can help retailers show customers what and where healthy choices are in their stores. By working with local independently owned stores, healthy choices highlighted by local and available owners. As part of the process, youth have been conducting store audits.

Youth store auditors were pleasantly surprised at the healthy choices at our local independently owned stores and want the owners to get the word out about what they have.

Barnard General Store will be the first store honored ifor its' approach to healthy food in Windsor County as part of the Healthy Retailer program.
